Is Sara Ali Khan stepping into politics?

Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, known for her portrayal of freedom fighter Usha Mehta in the recent film 'Ae Watan Mere Watan', has sparked speculation about a potential foray into politics.

In a recent interview with an Indian media outlet, Sara Ali Khan, who portrayed the role of the Gandhian figure in her latest biopic released on Amazon Prime Video, hinted at the prospect of entering politics. When asked about her intentions to pursue a political career in real life, she responded affirmatively, stating, "Yes, she does."

In a previous interview, the 'Love Aaj Kal' actor also hinted at the possibility, saying, "I have a degree in history and political science, so I may consider entering politics later in life, although it's not a backup plan."

However, Khan emphasized that she is not abandoning the film industry, stating, "I am not leaving [the film industry], and as long as people give me the opportunity to work in Bollywood, I will continue to do so."

Aside from her role in the historical biopic 'Ae Watan Mere Watan', Khan also appeared in Netflix's star-studded mystery thriller 'Murder Mubarak', directed by Homi Adajania.

Sara Ali Khan attributes her upbringing to her single mother, Amrita Singh, acknowledging her influence by stating, "'I realized nobody is going to do anything for you."
