Turkish actor Uğur Güneş, known for his role as Tugtekin Bey in TRT's renowned historical series Diriliş: Ertuğrul, will take on the lead character of Sultan Selahaddin Eyyubi. The epic Selahaddin Eyyubi is being filmed on an extensive 200-acre set, meticulously recreating the ancient city of Damascus. This sprawling set includes faithful replicas of mosques, vibrant bazaars, opulent palaces, and historical residences.
In October 2021, producers from both nations met with former Prime Minister Imran Khan to announce their collaborative project.
