Pakistan’s predicted squad for New Zealand T20I series

Pakistan is gearing up to host New Zealand for a thrilling series of five T20I matches later this month, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) set to unveil the squad imminently.

PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi announced that the squad for the upcoming home series against New Zealand will be revealed on April 9, a day later than originally anticipated.

An 18-member squad is poised to take on the Kiwis in the T20 matches. Unofficial reports suggest that the squad will feature Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir, both of whom returned from retirement after discussions with PCB officials.

Babar Azam is expected to lead the team once again, reclaiming the captaincy role. Among the potential squad members are Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Zaman Khan, Agha Salman, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, and Abbas Afridi.

For spinners, PCB is considering either Usama Mir or Abrar Ahmed, while Haris Rauf will miss the series due to injury.

The board will soon announce the team management officials, including the assistant coach, after April 20.

The Men in Green have a packed schedule ahead, including series against Ireland, England, the T20I World Cup, Bangladesh, England, Australia, and South Africa, along with a tri-series in Pakistan before the Champions Trophy.
