"Be it referred to as genocide, apartheid, or homicide," Ushna Shah addresses the Israel-Palestine matter.

Prominent Pakistani actress Ushna Shah advocates for a long-term solution of "unconditional freedom" rather than a temporary ceasefire to resolve the enduring conflict between Palestinians and Israelis, which escalated when Hamas unexpectedly attacked Israel on October 7, resulting in numerous casualties.

In solidarity with their Muslim counterparts, Pakistanis have taken to social media and organized rallies demanding a ceasefire from both sides. Ushna Shah actively participated in a recent Karachi rally organized by civil society in support of the Palestinians.

The actress has been outspoken about the issue on various social media platforms. She shared her thoughts during the civil society march, emphasizing that it's essential for people from all walks of life to unite and continue the effort. She drew attention to the involvement of "superpowers" in the conflict and the silence of some Muslim nations.

Ushna Shah stressed the need for the public to take to the streets and call on the government to openly condemn the atrocities committed against Palestinians by Israeli forces. She called for sustained protests until Palestine achieves absolute freedom, drawing parallels with the historical colonization experience of the Subcontinent and the Holocaust suffered by the Jews. She clarified that this is not a Jewish vs. Muslim conflict but rather a response to what she termed "Zionist propaganda or regime" causing ethnic cleansing among Palestinians, and she urged everyone to raise their voices on this critical issue.

In a prior post on platform X, Shah expressed her views with the statement: "It doesn't matter if I never have the chance to audition for that elusive Hollywood role that many believe they can attain, or if I never secure a contract with a multinational corporation or become the face of a major beauty brand. When my descendants reflect on these years in the future, they will find me standing on the side of history that champions justice. You can continue to idolize those who adhere to a 'both sides' stance if you wish, but be aware that such statements are carefully crafted by PR teams for individuals I refer to as those lacking courage and substance." She made it clear that her allegiance lies with the Palestinians.
