Preliminary reports stated that Asim was rushed to Tulamba Hospital, where he was declared deceased.
Khanewal DPO Rana Umar Farooq Salamat, speaking to Samaa Digital, confirmed that Asim sustained a gunshot wound in his chest.
Salamat added, "Tariq Jamil's nephew claimed that Asim Jamil shot himself."
Simultaneously, the police launched an investigation into the incident, he mentioned.
Meanwhile, Maulana Tariq Jamil used X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the loss of his son.
"My son Asim Jamil passed away today in Tulamba. This accidental demise has cast a pall of gloom," he wrote.
The religious scholar added, “We humbly request your prayers during this sorrowful time. May Allah grant my son a lofty place in Jannat.
